Itinerary

Day by Day

DAY1

Kyoto Uji Day Tour | Byodo-in Temple, Uji Tea Street and Fushimi Inari

  1. Hotel → Byodo-in Temple, UjiYour private vehicle collects you from your Kyoto or Osaka city hotel and heads for Byodo-in Temple in Uji. Follow the garden paths to admire the Phoenix Hall and its reflection on the pond, then visit the museum as admission allows, soaking up the history of Uji. Entry to the interior of the Phoenix Hall is confirmed separately on the day, and walking and photo time can be adjusted to suit everyone in your party.
  2. Uji tea street → Riverside stroll and lunchAt midday, wander into the Uji tea street (Byodo-in Omotesando) and choose from matcha desserts, tea drinks or local dishes, then stroll along the banks of the Uji River to take in the bridges and the townscape. If you would like a hands-on matcha workshop, book ahead and we will adjust the time spent on the tea street. There is no obligation to shop; the tea break and riverside walk flow naturally into one another.
  3. Fushimi Inari → Return to hotelIn the afternoon, continue to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. From the main worship area, walk into the first stretch of the Senbon Torii and take in the vermilion gates and the dappled light of the wooded hillside. How far you walk depends on energy and time; climbing the whole mountain is not part of the plan. After the visit, you return to your hotel. The actual driving time from Kyoto or Osaka is confirmed at booking.
10 hours. The order of stops is adjusted to traffic and reservations, and fixed arrival times are not guaranteed.
